There are many studies and focus inside the study of psychology, but an interesting matter to discuss is a placebo result. The placebo effect is definitely " a phenomenon through which an trial and error manipulation generates an effect because participants believe that it will create and effect” (Kowalski & Westen, 2011, p. 49). This is a widely used approach to experimentation in modern emotional research and can be a benefit towards the society in general because the placebo effect may help cure a health problem and reduce the expenses of treatments.

An experimental study need to contain several variables and conditions so that the behavior or the condition of an interest can be predicted. There are two types of variables that is in an experiment. These are independent and dependent variables. Independent adjustable is something that can be changed to show several results. The dependent variable is the measure of response from the independent variable (Kowalski & Westen, 2011, p. 47). According to Kowalski and Westen (2011, p. 47) this is known as the ‘cause and effect' because persistent variable could be changed in a manner that the result may have a different sort of effect.
