Introduction

Parasitic attacks are considered to be a public health issue of global importance by the Community Health Firm. The Filipino government has been creating tasks to help get rid of this public welfare problem in the country and although the percentage of infected people has decreased, this has not been completely successful as of this time. Successful eradication of parasites would involve educating those, proper sterilization, and the compliance of the community to the guidelines provided by the us government and overall health organizations. This may not be an easy subject for these need much time and money and people from rural areas had been used to all their way of life plus some do not see how the parasites may cause damage and influence one's efficiency. With this, Parasitology (ZOO 173) students of first session A. Sumado a. 2013-2014 collected samples coming from dogs and children ages 3 to 13 to survey the parasitic attacks and to apply what they have learned from the course. The samples were bought from children because they were even more susceptible to parasitic infections, especially soil-transmitted helminthes (STH). The kids lived in a rural residential district in Los Baños, Laguna—one was 3 years of age as well as the other was nine years old.

Methodology

Before the examination of organisms, samples had been acquired from kids (with the consent of their parents or perhaps guardian)—two waste samples and two 35mm slides with scotch tape that was dabbed in the perianal region with the subjects thrice first thing in the morning—and waste sample via a dog. The slides with all the scotch strapping would identify the presence of Enterobius vermicularis inside the subjects. The fecal samples were condensed in 10% formalin so as to kill the parasites and to preserve them.
